Here are a few reminders of the activities we have planned for World Book Week, which commences on Monday 2nd March.
‘Book in a Jar Competition’ – we would like to invite everyone to have a go at filling a jar with clues to their favourite book. Entries will need to be brought in to school by Friday 6th March for judging.
‘Starbooks Cafe’ – each class will have the opportunity to share a favourite book with their reading partner while enjoying some light refreshments. As well as this, we would like to invite your child to bring in a small blanket/soft toy during this session.
Book Swap – this will be held after school at the back of the hall and we invite all children to bring in a preloved book on the day so that it can be exchanged for a book that they have not read. We would welcome any donations of unwanted books and request that they be left at the back of the hall before and after school on Monday.
On World Book Day, we request that each child dress as their favourite book character and bring along the book that the character appears in. We would also like to encourage all children to have a go at making a homemade costume or accessory.
There will be many other exciting activities going on throughout the week, which we are sure the children will enjoy. Many thanks for your continued support.
